For more than 40% of kids in Lucas County, food insecurity is a daily reality. Connecting Kids to Meals is already providing healthy or nutritious weekday meals, but with so many families struggling financially during this crisis, we are endeavoring to help extend our help further. Because we know that hunger does not stop, Connecting Kids to Meals has set a goal of raising $125,000 for our Children First Relief Fund to ensure that we put children first, feeding more than 5,000 hungry kids every weekend from late May until August.


What's in a weekend meal kit?

Every weekend kit includes 15 healthy breakfast and snack items, giving them the fuel they need to be kids all weekend long. Connecting Kids to Meals thanks United Way of Greater Toledo, Lott Industries and Mobile Meals of Toledo for helping with funding and assembling these weekend meals.

  • $52 feeds weekend meals for 1 kid all summer long
  • $325 provides 100 weekend meals this summer
  • $3,250 provides 1,000 weekend meals this summer
